Juan Goñi Uriarte, architect and co-founder of Klic Arquitectos

Juan Goñi Uriarte is a Spanish architect who co-founded Klic Arquitectos in 2006, an architecture studio based in Torremolinos (Málaga, Spain). Registered with the Official College of Architects of Málaga (COA Málaga, no. 1,206), he leads the studio together with Ruth Buján Varela, and the two of them sign both the design and the site management of its projects.

Background

Juan Goñi Uriarte has led Klic Arquitectos since it was founded in 2006, first in Málaga and now from Torremolinos, together with architect Ruth Buján Varela, a partner since 2010. Within the studio he is responsible for management, client relations and business development, and he shares with Ruth the signature of every project and every site management.

His work combines design with delivery: single-family and multi-family housing, full refurbishments, hotels and workplaces on the Costa del Sol, and the role of local architect (Architect of Record) for international studios building in Spain. He sums up his approach with one of the studio’s ideas: beauty lies in the simplest solutions.

Alongside his practice, Juan explains architecture on social media: what it really costs to build, what to check before buying or renovating a home, and how technology is changing the profession. That outreach work was recognised in 2026 with a commendation (accésit) at the Málaga Architecture Awards.
