Klic Arquitectos is a Spanish architecture studio founded in Málaga in 2006 by architects Juan Goñi Uriarte and Ruth Buján. It acts as Architect of Record (AOR), the local registered architect, for international architecture studios, foreign developers and hotel brands with projects in Spain: project signature and visado at the Official College of Architects, building permits, adaptation to the Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE) and site management. Based on the Costa del Sol, it works in English and Spanish.

As registered architects, we can act as Architect of Record anywhere in Spain. Membership of one Spanish Official College of Architects (COA) entitles an architect to practise nationwide, and the visado is processed at the college covering the project’s location.
Our base is the Costa del Sol, where we know each municipality’s planning rules, town halls and network of consultants and contractors first-hand. From here we support international studios and developers on projects in Andalusia and the rest of Spain.

What is an Architect of Record and why do I need one in Spain?
An Architect of Record (AOR), or local architect, is the registered architect who signs the project, obtains its visado (official endorsement by the College of Architects) and takes on legal responsibility for it before the Spanish authorities. It is mandatory when a foreign studio designs a building in Spain, as only an architect registered with a Spanish COA can apply for permits and direct the works.
