Award-winning multi-family housing: key points of the Sorolla 15-17 project

At the Málaga Architecture Awards 2024, the College of Architects recognised our multi-family housing project Sorolla 15-17, in Málaga, with an honourable mention. It is a good example of how to design a residential development that works for the developer and for the people who will live in it. These are its key points.

The challenge: density with quality

A multi-family development has to solve a difficult equation: making the most of the buildable area without giving up the quality of the homes. At Sorolla 15-17 the work focused on a well-oriented mix of homes, with a good ratio of usable to built floor area, and communal areas that add value without driving up maintenance costs.

Light, orientation and façade

Orientation and façade design determine the comfort and commercial appeal of each home. Care was taken over daylight capture, solar protection and a contemporary, restrained image in keeping with the urban setting. The result combines efficiency with a discreet-luxury aesthetic.

From award-winning project to construction

A good project is only worth something if it is built well. The partners supervise the works ourselves, with budget and schedule control, so that the quality of the design reaches handover intact. That coherence between design and execution is what we aim for in every development.
