What is an Architect of Record and why do I need one in Spain?
An Architect of Record (AOR) is the registered Spanish architect who signs, stamps (visado) and assumes legal responsibility for the project before the Spanish authorities. If your design is produced by a foreign studio, it is mandatory to appoint a local AOR: only an architect registered at a Spanish COA can apply for permits and supervise the works.
